Work Health and Safety (WHS) Policy
1. Commitment to Health and Safety
Wandering Webmaster (WWM) is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, clients, and visitors. We prioritize the prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses through proactive risk management, compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), and fostering a culture of safety awareness. This policy applies to all operations, including in-person tech support, remote work, and office activities.
2. Responsibilities
Management:

Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and standards.

Allocate resources for hazard identification, risk assessments, and control measures.

Provide training and equipment to maintain safe work practices.
Employees & Contractors:

Follow safe work procedures and report hazards promptly.

Participate in WHS training and consultations.

Take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.
Clients:

Cooperate with WWM staff to ensure safety during on-site visits.

Report any safety concerns related to WWM services.
3. Hazard Identification and Risk Management

Risk Assessments: Conducted for all tasks, including remote work setups and on-site client visits.

Controls: Implemented using the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, PPE).

Remote Work: Ergonomic assessments provided for home office setups.

On-Site Work: Pre-visit safety checks for client locations (e.g., trip hazards, electrical safety).
4. Incident Reporting and Investigation

All incidents, near misses, and hazards must be reported via WWM’s online portal within 24 hours.

Investigations focus on root causes, with corrective actions documented and communicated.
5. Training and Consultation

Mandatory Training: Annual WHS training for all staff, covering manual handling, electrical safety, and emergency procedures.

Toolbox Talks: Monthly safety discussions on topics like cyber safety fatigue and ergonomics.

Consultation: Employees and contractors are consulted through the WWM Discord channel #safety.
6. Emergency Procedures

Emergency Contacts: Listed in WWM’s employee handbook and Discord.

First Aid: Remote staff provided with virtual first aid training; first aid kits available at office locations.

Evacuation Plans: Clearly displayed in offices and reviewed biannually.
7. Continuous Improvement

Audits: Quarterly WHS audits of office spaces and remote work practices.

Feedback: Incorporated into policy updates via annual reviews.
